Donate to the Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation
“What I really want to do with this foundation is to help fund the research that will get us past just buying time and will hopefully provide a lifetime to melanoma patients.” -Tara Miller
The mission of the Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation is to raise funds to support research of effective treatment methods and ultimately a cure for melanoma.
Since the inaugural Make the Best of It Bash in 2014, the foundation has raised, and donated 100% of over $5.4million to Melanoma research.
My friend, Tara L. Miller, was diagnosed with Melanoma at age 28. Amidst multiple brain surgeries, proton therapy, and various clinical trials, she founded the Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation. Her motto was always #makethebestofit, and Tara’s first response was to throw a party. It hardly felt like Tara was battling cancer sometimes… she was so fiercely waging war on pessimism, excuses, and boring days.
Tragically, Tara lost her battle with melanoma on October 14, 2014, six weeks shy of her 30th birthday. However, it is not the loss of her life that this foundation remembers and honors, it is the extraordinary life that she led and the incredible legacy that she left behind that this foundation now proudly represents.
